Overview:

Rafaele is a character on the MUSH called Harry Potter: Into the Fire. He is a 7th year student at Hogwarts and a member of Hufflepuff House.

Appearance:

The young man before you is tall and thin. His frame is lanky and he seems yet to actually fill into his frame. Rafaele's skin is a smooth light brown or olive color, and is remarkably unblemished. He has a short main of dark brown hair parted slightly to the right, and dark chocolate colored eyes.

A uniform befitting the school dress code. A black cloak, bearing the Hufflepuff house badge, covers a grey sweater with corresponding yellow and black trimming the neck, hem, and cuffs. A white dress shirt, complete with yellow and black tie are visible beneath the sweater. A pair of long grey pants, buckled with a black belt, and black shoes complete the uniform.

Character History:

Rafaele Pietyr Katjavich was born to Alexandru and Amadora Katjavich in September of 1978 in Cambridge, England. The eldest of 3 children, Rafaele was always surrounded by people. His family was of mixed heritage, his father's parents were imigrants from Romania who came to study at the University of Cambridge. Amadora's family was of italian descent, but had been in England for much longer. Alexandru was born a wizard, and met Amadora on holiday while in London. They fell in love, and were married. Rafaele inherited his father's magical ability, and grew up well aware of the magical world. There was no question about his admission to hogwarts, his name was on the books.

Rafaele went to Hogwarts for his first year and was completely overwhelmed by the school and the sights of magic. Though he grew up amongst magical folk, Raf (as he became known by his friends) couldn't believe all of the uses for magical abilities. In an effort to keep his feet on the ground, Rafaele focused on one task to be his grounding discipline. He choose what he assumed to be a simple focus, Potions. Over time, the young man worked to become the best he could in his potions class. Though he faltered at first, Raf worked hard and got a knack for it. Of course, in the process of finding a focus, his grades suffered in his other classes. Though not failing, Rafaele scrapped by in his other classes. Many times it was said that if he could only apply himself, his grades would improve exponetially. Overall, with the exception of Potions,it was his raw magically ability that pulled him through, not the practical knowledge of the subject.

His private life was something different. He quickly gained a large circle of friends both in his now and not. He has a natural magnatism that seems to draw alot of people to him and disarm them. His friendly demeanor often catches people off guard. With a reputation as a heart breaker and a flirt, Rafaele always seems to spend more time with ladies than with guys. When at school, he usually spends most of his time goofing off, or playing games rather than studying.

Personality

Rafaele's personality is laid back and easy. He enjoys spending time free and easy, and will go to great lengths to avoid drama and rocking the boat amongst the people he knows. Overall, Raf hates arguments and conflict. To those whom he cares about, including his large family and the circle of people he knows, he is fiercly loyal. He works very hard to mediate the differences between people he knows, but at the same time cultivates a 'Devil-may-care' attitude. His friendly nature helps him to meet new people, and keeps him on many people's good side.

Unfortunately, the laid back and simple life can sometimes lead to issues. Rafaele is a famous procrastinator, and though he does get his work in on time, he must sometimes spend late nights working on homework that he should have done months ago. Aparently, after almost seven years of school life, he still hasn't learned his lesson.

Overall, Rafaele has an attitude that is more about enjoying life and having fun than careful study. This is something his parents are quite confused and worried about, but despite their best efforts, their son refuses to change. Fiercly independent, Rafaele is quite willing to live his life by his own rules.

Rafaele's name is an Italian spelling of the Hebrew Raphael which means Healer. His middle name, Pietyr, is Romanian for a Rock. Rafaele's last name is a common Romanian surname meaning Son of Katja.

His names come from his two grand fathers. One was Italian and the other Romanian.

Rafaele is an expert at potion making, despite his intense disliking of Professor Snape.

Raf's favorite pass time is music, specifically Muggle music from the 1950s up through the 1980s. Though it remains an idle dream, Rafaele often daydreams of playing alongside the greats like Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, and BB King.
